About Fitness on the Run

Fitness on the Run (FOR) is a private studio offering personal training, classes, as well as workshops led by a team of highly skilled personal trainers.

We have developed an approach to fitness that focuses on increasing lean muscle mass, cardiovascular health, healthy joints, and range of motion.

FOR prides itself on having the best personal trainers in the area. Just check out our trainers. In fact, we were voted for the Best Boutique Gym and Best Fitness Instructor in 2010 by the Washington Post Express Newspaper.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is one of total efficiency. We aim to help clients move better inside AND outside the gym. We want to mimic the movements you make each day and make them better and stronger so you eventually develop consistent movement patterns.  Making the most of your 50-minutes involves getting to know you and your individual needs, expectations and goals as well as what you need from us to achieve your goals. Our sessions include a full assessment of your joint mobility and fitness level. From there we incorporate resistance and/or weight training, core work and conditioning (in popular parlance “Cardio”). We respect each client’s journey and needs.  Most of all, we want you to enjoy your sessions and have some fun.

From orthopedic surgeons to chiropractors and hormone specialists, FOR has a large network of specialists that help our clients achieve total wellness.

Last on our philosophy “triangle” is fitness. Without the other three components, maintaining optimal levels of fitness will be more challenging.

Therefore, we have partnered with the innovators at Power Supply. They offer tasty, healthy eating made crazy simple for folks like us with an active lifestyle who want to feel, look and perform better. But cleaning up your eating and staying with it can be a big shift. We take some of the shopping and cooking load off your plate. You can enjoy fresh, locally made, responsibly sourced and delicious meals (and some recipe inspiration for your kitchen), without the time and brain commitment of going it alone.

FOR also offers ongoing Nutrition Coaching with Health Coach and Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Megan Crozier. Or our Wellness Visit might be for you, which includes a 3 month Nutrition plan.
