Cristina Cosner
Cristina Cosner is a seasoned athlete and trainer with more than 10 years’ experience in a wide variety of fitness specialties. She got her inspiration as an Army medic several years ago, when she witnessed first-hand how exercise and fitness go hand-in-hand with health and survival. Acting on this experience she decided to return to school to pursue a medical career. She is a candidate for a BS in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland this December.
Cristina’s exercise philosophy is based on safety. A firm believer that building a foundation of strength, endurance, flexibility, and agility is essential for fitness at any age, she believes that training should be a lifelong process. Fitness programs involving individualized routines, proper nutrition, and adequate rest are key aspects to any training program, says Cristina. She believes that functional movements form the basis for dramatically effective rehabilitation from injury.
Cristina is CrossFit Level 1 certified, USA Weightlifting Level One Sport Performance Coach certified, CrossFit Movement and Mobility Trainer certified, CrossFit Rowing certified, TRX Suspension Training certified, and AHA-CPR certified. Cristina is a candidate for certification in Hard Style Kettlebell (HKC) and as a personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-CPT).
Cristina lives in Alexandria with her husband, Roth (also a trainer at Fitness on the Run) and their two daughters.
