Why Specialty Small Group Training at FOR

It seems like on every street corner we see a specialized studio offering classes of up to 30 people. While the craze may seem attractive to those wanting quick results, the incidence of injury, frustration and frankly weight gain are at a record high.

We approach our small groups just as we do a one-on-one training session. We have a thoughtful program of strength training, cardiovascular work and lots of FUN in between. You can expect no more than (4) people in your small group. In fact, often you will have less.

You can join an existing group OR you can find (2) friends and you can start a new one. Why does training with a friend work? It turns your workout not only into fun time with friends, it helps it become a HABIT.

The higher you get your heart rate does not guarantee weight loss.

In fact, you may be taxing your adrenals beyond their capacity and actually GAIN weight.

At FOR, we view you as an individual with your own wants, needs and goals. We believe you deserve a proper evaluation, personalized attention and time to learn the exercises with an experienced trainer BEFORE you participate in a larger class. (Our classes max out at 8, no where close to the 20+ per class we are seeing in our industry.)

Fit for Life and FOR Pull Up Clubs are Back!

The first of our Specialty programs was such a resounding success that starting again in April, we are again offering the 5-week Fit for Life Fat Loss Club and FOR Pull Up Clubs for $299 each.

Fit for Life” Fat Loss Club: Tired of yo-yo diets and getting more confused by the day about what and when to eat? Feel like you do it all right, but the pounds don’t budge?

The “Fit for Life” Fat Loss Club is a 5 week comprehensive program built to help you jump-start your fitness, reset your nutrition, build lasting sleep and stress habits and to achieve a reasonable and achievable 5 week goal. Over the course of the 5 weeks, a small group of committed individuals will train together once per week, learn how to follow a meal plan, find better ways for sleep and stress resilience and support one another’s success. We will teach you how to measure so you can log it with us to report at the beginning and end of our 5 week journey together.

FOR Pull Up Club: The pull-up is often seen as one of the most challenging and intimidating movements for an individual to perform. Join our lead trainer, Remi, as he leads 5 clients through his 5-week Pull-up program, where he will teach you what he has learned to be the most important aspects to achieving a perfect pull-up.

Whether you’re trying to do a pull-up for the first time, or simply want to improve form or be able to complete more reps, Remi will be your guide in helping you meet your individual goal.

It’s Never Too Late To Start: Join FOR’s Move Better Small Group

Our Move Better Small Group is designed for anyone who wants to get strong, gain improved balance and increase joint mobility. We recommend these sessions for beginners – or those who haven’t trained for a while, those who are injured or simply those who want precision in their movements.

We place great emphasis on the warm up, mobility and ensuring every participant feels they’re being pushed safely where they are capable. Never fear, it is still a great workout including heart pumping movements. Our sessions will help you become more confident in your movements inside and outside the gym. We limit the number of participants to four so each individual gets ample attention to from the trainer.

The number one cause of injury among the elderly is falling. Not only not knowing “how” to fall, but also lacking the strength and balance to withstand, or better yet, prevent one. Not knowing how to get up from a fall is often disastrous and fatal.

How about this to get your attention: “Falling once doubles your chances of falling again.”

Many people who fall, even if they’re not injured, become afraid of falling. This fear can cause a person to curtail their everyday activities — purely out of fear. When a person is less active, they become weaker and this increases their chances of falling.

At Fitness on the Run, we decided to hit this fear not only “head on” but “core, glute, and mobility on.” We have started a small exercise group that is solely focused on aging with confidence. We focus on balance, mobility, core and glute strength, and form.

The Move Better Group Classes are offered at the following times with the ability to add another with a minimum of (3) committed clients:

We want you to feel confident participating in our Small Groups. Therefore, we ask for you to train with an experienced trainer for (3) private sessions before registering for an FOR Small Group. In these sessions, we will get to know YOU and YOUR goals and assess your fitness level. Your trainer will provide you the best advice on which FOR Sessions fit your goals and experience. Best of all: YOU will join other MOTIVATED FOR clients also on their journey for lasting RESULTS.

Helping Student Athletes Get Stronger and Faster

Know any student athletes who want to perform better in their sport and in their daily life? Know a student who could use some tips about how to use their body as their most precious prize for a sport or for life? Know a student who wants to excel and who could use some tools to get stronger, faster or more nimble? Welcome to Fitness on the Run’s Student Athlete Program where we believe every student is an athlete.

Student Athletes at FOR

Since every athlete is an individual at their own fitness level, we offer our “Get Fit for Life” Introductory Package for the athlete interested in getting stronger at FOR. It is value packed including (3) one-on-one Personal Training sessions to evaluate your athlete and find the right fit for him/her.

Athlete’s commonly seek the individual attention of our skilled trainers and choose one–on-one training, yet can also choose to join an existing Student Athlete Group. If your athlete has a friend or two who are interested in forming a Student Athlete group, we ask for a minimum of (3) athletes to agree upon a day and time to meet.

We are currently offering a Student Athlete Small Group at 6pm Monday nights. We are happy to help you schedule a group of at least 3. Our one-on-one personal training and “duet” training (2 Students; one coach) sessions are also very popular.
